Life of Pi: Don't lose hope

Above all... it is important not to lose hope - Pi Patel

Life of Pi movie poster
An adaptation from Yann Martel's novel. This movie is directed by Ang Lee, if you guessed Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon's director, yes he is. An inspiring story about the secret of life, and hope.

The Story
The film started with Piscine Molitor "Pi" Patel (Irfan Khan [adult Pi] and Suraj Sharma [16 years old Pi] describes his adventure (or disaster) to a novel writer. He explained how this adventure affect his life (by the way, Pi is a Catholic Muslim, and Hindu).

Bengal Tiger and Pi
Pi's originally came from French-India. His family run a zoo back then. However, his family decided to move their zoo to Canada. In the middle of their journey to India, their ship was sunk because of the heavy storm. Pi managed to save his life. He was the only survivor.

Nevertheless, he wasn't alone. A Bengal Tiger joined him in his lifeboat. Then the adventure began. Pi learned to survive in the ocean, and tame the tiger at the same time.

The Cast
Suraj Sharma was good enough to show a survivor's desperateness in this movie. A well performance was done by Irfan Khan, as he was able to live-up a philosopher-by-life man character. His narrative gave a well description.

Conclusion
Jelly fish scene
A worthy-two-hours movie. The screen play is magnificent. The best part for me is the night scene in the middle of pacific ocean when the jelly fishes and a whale were shown up. You may think of the purpose of your life after watch this movie. Well done Ang Lee!
